Wordle fun

I'm a big wordle fan. I've been experimenting with one partcular piece of text because it'd be a perfect gift to frame for my sister. The lyrics to "Wasted Youth" by Meat Loaf. Long story, but it's been a special favorite for many years.

RSSs

So I was a bit stumped with thing #8- to learn all about RSS feeds and start a Bloglines newsreader account. I have to say, (horrors), I'm not a big fan. I added several of my favorite sites to my bloglines account, but found that I'd rather take the extra time and go to each site and read through them myself. I can appreciate the speediness and organization of having everything in one spot, but I don't warm to it. If I had a homepage on my home computer (which is currently afflicted with the blue screen of death), I'd probably have enjoy a newsreader much more. The one thing that has come from learning about the RSS feeds, is that I see that little orange button *everywhere* now! Including my fave: etsy.com, where I can see quickly when my favorite sellers have added items. Like these fabulous earrings from Maggie Joynt's shop..

Go go technology

For today's "technology" post, I thought I'd share a fun thing that's currently developing on facebook. I've always enjoyed getting back in touch with people I haven't seen or spoken to in years. For a while, all you could do was google someone's name and hope they left their email address somewhere. Then along came friendster, myspace and facebook. One of my *old* friends from elementary school posted a picture of our class on our sixth grade end of the year trip to New York City. Now, through that picture- and various people's comments- I'm back in touch with more than half of that class, and our teacher! For everyone who had her, Mrs. Chaimson was their favorite for life. And now, almost twenty years later, it feels great to be able to tell her how wonderful she was and what an impact she had on my life. This picture is of me and my best friend Crystal on the bus heading to NYC- May of 1992.
